My current system is as follows:

    Rega P9
    Dynavector 20X H/L
    Monolithic PS-1/HC-1
    Unison Unico integrated amp
    Quad 22L speakers

I spent a couple of days with both the Sim and Manley phono pre-amps. Both were substantially better than my current Monolithic phono pre-amp.

The Sim presented a larger soundstage and detail in spades. My Monolithic seemed claustrophobic in comparison. There was also better base which I always thought was lacking in my current system.

The Manley offered everything the Sim did but created a live feel to the music. The room became the soundstage. The speakers vanished. My friend used the word "silky".

I've decided to go with the Chinook.
