This movie looks scary as hell...

A trio of reckless thieves breaks into the house of a wealthy blind man, thinking they'll get away with the perfect heist. They're wrong.

Is this a remake of Wait Until Dark (1967) with Audrey Hepburn?

No, but it's been described as a cross between that movie and Panic Room.

It does look pretty suspenseful. They should have never broke into his house. :tsk:

If Audrey Hepburn's role was played by Liam Neeson.

Yeah, I read up on it and it doesn't sound very good at all.

What's scarier: A blind killer or a blind girl threatened by a killer? I think I can tell you.

I love a good horror movie. Truth be told, I sort of like the bad ones too. I'll be seeing this.

I just got back from seeing this. I rarely see horror movies, but I really wanted to go to the theater on Friday (to break my routine), and since this movie got a good rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I decided to give it a go. Occasionally, I have rented a horror movie on Netflix and sometimes turn them off after about thirty minutes, bored to death.

IMO, this movie has "got it." I was thoroughly entertained and got my money's worth. Of course, it is always hard to kill people in movies in general, and in horror movies in particular, but setting that aside, it is a fairly cohesive movie. The cinematography was beautifully done and created a sense of slight claustrophobia during viewing. The music carried the mood along, and the acting was solid. I actually enjoyed The Green Room several months ago, and I think this movie is even better. The blind veteran character is bada$$. Two thumbs way up!

Gonna see it this weekend. I loved Green Room as well.

I don't think my wife would like Green Room given the violence. Is this one more or less violent than Green Room?

I've been hearing good things about this film.... plus, it was directed by Fede Alvarez, who did the 2013 remake of Evil Dead, which was actually pretty decent..... so I'll have to keep this one on my radar.

I did see one review that said this movie featured one of the 10 most disgusting scenes in horror movie history. I don't yet know what they entails...but I can't wait to find out.

The movie is well directed and acted, but in the last third I really started to dislike it. Proceed at your own risk.

I much preferred Equity, a dramatic thriller about women in the world of investment banking:

Just saw it. Sorry, but I thought it was lame: cliched, violent, and more horrible than horror. The characters were 2-d, I wanted them all killed off as quickly as possible. The cheap manipulation of the main plot to try get us to sympathize with the woman rather than the blind homeowner had me just wishing for the end, which could not come quick enough. Oh, and it had a dog chase in it too. Am sure it will be successful.

Well then, of course, it's making money! Hot on the heels of Suicide Squad! The American public speaks again! (and frankly, there's not much at the movies at the moment.) But the reviews are still promising. I haven't seen anyone kill it yet. 71 percent at Metacritc. Someone did mention the lighting gets really dark and murky. I hate that. Especially for home viewing.

Saw it. Thought it was good not great. It had its moments. A couple friends that saw it shared my reaction.

I saw it Sunday. I also thought it was good. Didn't care for the last 10 minutes or so of movie.
