Joe Maneri Quartet: Let The Horse Go Recorded in the studio on 6/1/95 so Joe was 68 at the time A tad below the classic hatART recordings, but this one (on Leo) still packs a wallop. Band is Joe on alto & tenor saxophones & clarinet, Mat Maneri on violin, John Lockwood on bass & Randy Peterson on drums As always with the quartet, freely improvised pieces led by the great Ol' Round Man himself, the late, great Papa Joe Maneri
I gotta say... the two festivals I'd be most interested in seeing some year on the west coast are the "Bridge Benefit" and the "Kate Wolf Festival".

Some of my favorites of the time/style & era You have excellent taste save for the guy who lives about an hour from me
i put time in this one back in the day. I liked it but the hits just got played out. back then, MTV could kill a good record with overplay. I really liked the end of the album, the last 4 cuts were strong. and they never got play by the masses. Badmotorfinger was better to me. that was just such a monstrous rock n roll album. but i always wonder if i'd like superunknown more if it wasn't so forced to us like so many other records back in that time.
Well, sitting on the balcony listening to early Marley & Wailers and sweating like a pig. Not that I'm complaining. A chilled drink in hand keeps me cool
I prefer Superunknown and Down on the Upside, even though I'm not a Soundgarden connoisseur. In my opinion, MTV and the radio couldn't destroy "Black Hole Sun" (or Blind Melon's "No Rain", to that matter). When a song is great, it remains great. "Spoonman", though, gets a bit tiresome after repeated listenings. I absolutely love Ben Shepherd's "Head Down".
I tend to agree. I love No Rain! it's a great song! to this day if I hear American Girl by Petty or Beast of Burden by the Stones i turn that stuff up. the great songs are always durable.
