He should star in a great TV series and forget lame Hollywood movies. Well maybe it is a question of money.

I'll watch it only if he yells "Yippee ki-yay, motherf---er!" before each killing.

Hell no! Wasn't like the original was a stone cold cinema classis.

I think I might pass on this idea. It doesn't need a remake.

The first one may have captured the zeitgest of its time, but as with most such things it has not aged well, and what little merit it may have had isn't enough to make it worth revisiting.

As for the sequels, they were nothing more than exploitive garbage, with absolutely zero redeeming qualities.

I'm afraid any reboots will fall into the latter category.

The problem is not that it stars Bruce Willis and I agree with many that we do not need a remake of this. The real problem is the director Eli Roth. Prepare yourselves for a gore fest because he has no need for a well written script. Blood, guts and nonsensical plots are his forté. This is as positive as I can be when he's involved in something. His films make The Human Centipede look like Citizen Kane. I'll stop now. I think you get the picture.

With Eli Roth doing it i am sure it will be exploitive to say the least.

Didn't Jodie Foster already remake Death Wish?

There is only one subject in films that makes me uneasy and that is rape. I can take all the sex and violence with no problems but throw in a rape scene and I get a little touchy. Some movies can do them and I am not bothered ;however, when others do them i can get so troubled by them it takes a day or so to get it out of my head.

The first Death Wish had a pretty strong scene ;however, it didn't take it too far. It gave you just enough so that I could empathize with the main character. The second one on the other hand was a different story. It was like they were just glorifying it which in my opinion lowered the value of the film.

There is no way of knowing this yet but my fear is that Eli Roth will turn this into yet another I Spit On Your Grave style film. The kind of film I would feel ashamed to take up to the check out counter. Maybe he will prove me wrong ;however, after seeing all three Hostel films I just don't see much hope.

I predict much more nudity and spewing blood.
What I thought was good in an intellectual sense about the first Bronson one was that he never kills the people who ravage his family. It's just blind fury, not pointed revenge. I would bet that this remake will involve him tracking down the offenders and removing parts of their anatomy.

I'd rather see Steve Buscemi star in a fact-based drama about subway vigilante Bernard Goetz.
Goetz was apparently a regular vinyl-buying customer at the old Midnight Records in N.Y.
