Mine had the same sticker, but alas no BG in the deadwax. I wonder why they printed his name on there, when it's not his work? It would be good if someone with both copies could compare them sound wise.
Psst ... since we're going on about Bernie Grundman, I just thought I'd mention the brand-new reissue of Frank Zappa's Hot Rats is Bernie Grundman's work.
Acoustic Sounds has both versions of Division Bell listed and in stock and isn't Quality Records pressing the Grundman pressing? So it must exist I'm sure they could confirm as well.
If you are talking about the Division Bell then this is a world premiere! A few here got the Grundman sticker with the TML (aka Doug Sax remaster) in the deadwax... Lucky you!
My bad. The Wall - Grundman remaster - BG in the deadwax. Apologies. I had to go back and read the confusion.
To me this mastering is much better than the previous reissue of the Wall. Seems more dynamic and punchier. That being said in the quieter passages my copy is not dead quiet. I've got some surface noise. It's low but it's there.
Wet or dry clean? I found wet cleaning more efficient to get rid of static. I have tried many solutions over the years and l'Art du son cleaning solution is the one giving the best results. I usually wet clean on the first or scond pass but so far all of the Floyds were so quiet that no cleaning was necessary.
When I clean my records after being stored for a while I simply take a spray bottle of vinegar water and spray the whole record, then use a microfiber towel to wipe it off. I don't think this hase any negative impact on the vinyl.
Generally the 2011 WYWH is generally appreciated where DSOTM gets less praise. I was ok with all the 2011 releases, including the Wall and whilst WYWH was the best the other two were far from bad. My 2016 copy of the Wall just arrived! Gary
I'm very impressed. Listened to it all now and it's my favourite copy. A pristine original would beat it but that's not possible until I find one
