I'm not sure on total drums , but my favorite "snare" drum sounds are -
Phil Rudd- albums Highway to Hell and Back in Black
Charlie Watts-albums Black and Blue and Some Girls

These albums have, in my opinon, particularly great drum sounds:

Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left to Lose
    Rush - Coutnerparts
    Metallica - Metallica
    Genesis - Abacab

Others I'm sure, but off the top of my head, those spring to mind.

I heard them on their Manifesto tour in the old Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Intimate venue, thrust stage, seating 2500 maybe and great acoustics. Great kick drum starting off the first song of the evening , lights down very low. Nice. Very nice drums and sound in general.

I'm guessing these are electric, or just REALLY compressed with effects added.

Bob Clearmountain is my hero when it comes to getting great drum sounds, mainly the kick. It's just solid and juicy. A few examples...

Great, solid sounds. David Bowie-Let's Dance

More of a natural approach but sounds great. Steve Winwood-Take It As It Comes

Lastly, the beastly approach, again with a great kick sound.
Simple Minds - "Alive And Kicking" »

I like the drum sound on AC/DC's album 'Fly On The Wall'. Very fat.

Jay Dee Daugherty's drumming on Priest = Aura, as recorded by Gavin MacKillop. I really can't choose one song over another, so this will have to do:

They used a small Tapco mixing board on the basic tracks, which are wired without a mid pot in line and for some reason it perfectly compresses drums. I have always loved that sound.

The drums on "Lust For Life" by Iggy Pop sound incredible! Also, REM on vinyl really brings out the drums.
