I can think of only one, the movie that turned out to be both his and Richard Pryor's last. Kinda wish they had stopped one earlier (I loved Hear No Evil, See No Evil).

Seriously a remarkable career with so many memorable roles. I read one of the novels (novellas?) he wrote after he stopped acting and enjoyed it. A lot of the charm he had in his acting came across in the book, and I could easily imagine him playing the role. Can't remember what that book was called though.

RIP to a beautiful, funny & brilliant man
I grew up with Willy Wonka and enjoyed many of his movies over the past 40 or so years.

I thought this was the weakest of all the skits, a one joke thing that was only mildly amusing except for the end.

I just remembered "The Women In Red".....
I guess that movie was better off forgotten.

  15. The premise is one-joke only, but I think Wilder's performance elevated this sequence to something far greater.

BTW, speaking of Gene Wilder and Willy Wonka, the DCC/Garland Sammy Davis, Jr. Greatest Hits Vol. 1 CD has "The Candy Man" on it and the disc was mastered by our host.

I have to agree about Silver Streak. I think that film perfectly captures all the facets of Gene's talent. The comedy, the romantic, the frantic--it's all there. Probably his best leading man role.

    Great scene:
