Miles Davis - Time After Time

Originally by Cindy Lauper and a nice pop song with vocals. The trumpet playing by Miles Davis is so lyrical and brings another dimension to the song.

Rhino's Rock Instrumental Classics cd's had a hype sticker on the cellophane that said, "Includes Complete Lyrics!".

Not that I'm gonna document it, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that 3/4 of my collection was instrumental.

I wouldn't know where to begin answering the OP.

that was my first choice, but I had posted it earlier in the wah-wah guitar thread.

    Also, it has spoken word.

I have not heard this before. Yet, I have heard DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince Summertime a few times on the radio (years ago). Sound similar?

I empathize with you. I listen to a lot of instrumental music. Far more imaginative. Plus. it offers me more interesting musical ideas to practice.

No reason a small portion of classical can't be touched.

At least a portion of a work on a simple solo instrument. (Paganini the master shredder)

    All right already.

Gimme a little time to select one that will guarantee the most widespread brain damage.

Heh. What a contrast. Good old American boy Dick Clark introducing an outfit looking as if someone spiked their jello shots with mescaline. :)

    (I got this vid)

My very favorite. Studio version is from 1993 album 'Painful'. I prefer this live performance

Yes to the second, especially the 12" Kevorkian version.

    If I'm feeling contemplative:

Shake Off The Ghosts - Simple Minds
or South Downs - Roxy Music

Upbeat mood - Party Chambers by the Style Council
