    I think there were 3.

I might have forgotten the exact detail but was it 1) Straight band performance, 2) Band dressed in drag, 3) The buffalo jumping off a cliff

(If I'm wrong on the detail go easy on me, I'm going from 25 year old memories here!)

Eighteen of them, in fact, although many of the variations were slight.

2 examples by Def Leppard. Pour Some Sugar On Me. The original UK version with the band in the house thats being demolished is great. Much better than the US concert footage. The orignal stage video of Bringing on the Heartbreak from 81 and the 84 version in the wharehouse when they just added synthesizer.

Nice, hadn't seen the Canadian version. Like how they handled in both videos the vocal from Bryan Adams.

The Stones - "Jumpin' Jack Flash" had two different promo films, one with the band in face makeup, one without. There were also multiple different promo films for "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?"

A music video was made for the song, directed by Godley and Creme. It was shot upside-down and was one of the first music videos to utilize computer-generated imagery. Eighteen different variations of the video were made (the first one, for instance, simply had the band upside-down, but motionless for the whole song), with the eleventh one chosen as the "standard" version, and has remained the "official" video. A half-hour documentary on the making of the video was broadcast on MTV in 1984. Also, a marathon showing all eighteen videos one after the other was also shown on MTV.

    there was only one version,

the other ones were for an earlier version of the song, and a remake.

    not for the same song.

yes, but the songs are different versions.

so technically each song has one video.

"Shattered Dreams" by Johnny Hates Jazz. It has a UK video, and a later more stylish, black & white video (directed by David Fincher) for the US.

"Bridges" by Broods had two videos. One by Danish directors Jeppe Kolstrup and Aleksander Hørup, which Georgia and Caleb aren't in, and later a more conventional video (labelled the 'official' video on YouTube) which does have them in it. Both videos are excellent... but very different interpretations of the song.

Cool, I didn't realize there was an earlier video version of the song. What are the musical differences between this version, which I'm assuming is the early version:

and the one MTV and other video outlets aired back in the 80s:
