  1. Lonson

Lonson I'm in the kitchen with the Tombstone Blues

It's my hope sales for this will be strong and they'll repeat this three more times. I want all the shows out from the master tapes, I'm greedy that way.

Was the 1/1/70 first show complete on the Fillmore East DVD? - If so, that is 2 complete shows.

Depends if the reported set list is accurate as we have reports [going back to the 80's / 90's] that HMT was performed at this set.
Was Burning Desire included in the Legacy issue of this DVD?

Just checked, no BD on the release!
That makes it incomplete with or without the reported HMT.

That said, Burning Desire that is tagged onto the end of the 1st set list in UH may well be from the later performance that day!!!

We all do. That said, EH still has yet to release the first show from Berkeley 12+ years after the second show was released, so it could be a long wait.

A bit confused...I have a 2 disc set "Live at The Fillmore East" that contains works from the same date quoted as being in the new "Machine Gun" release...Will I be duplicating what I already have,or is it a different entity?

It doesn't contain the complete first show but a few tracks from that will be repeated on the new release. There were 4 shows and this is the complete first show. Live At The Fillmore East was a compilation of material from the 4 shows.

Are the duplicated tracks sourced as on the "Fillmore East" album?

No, they are from the multitracks, mixed by Eddie Kramer and mastered by Bernie Grundman, this time :righton:!

Billy Cox is now billed by EH as a member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, since 50% of the 1970 ads used that billing after the Jimi/Mitch/Noel Rolling Stone interview early that year.

My Axis Bold as Love from MOV is an EU pressing that has the same Grundman mastering as the US QRP issues - played them back to back and they're literally the exact same, fwiw. I know that doesn't mean anything in this instance, but it seems that the QC for Hendrix vinyl is fairly strict.

At these EH concerts do they play much in the way of post-experience material* - things like "Dolly Dagger," "Izabella," "Hey Baby," "Villanova Junction," "Ezy Ryder?" etc. Or do they stick to the better known Experience material?

*I've never been to one of these shindigs, but I have seen Eric Johnson (who's participated in EH events in the past) in concert and he does wonderful version of the majestic "One Rainy Wish."

That's good to know, it confirms something that I was told by another member recently.

It now appears that unlike previous EH European releases, we are now getting albums pressed from US stampers cut by the same engineers and from the exact same source which is great.
