I don't think there is a key change in the chorus of JJF. Maybe a live version? Not the studio version though. It does not go thru a full cadence to be considered a key change. I think it is tonicization. Correct me if I am wrong. I am going by how I remember playing it...which was long ago.

I actually do understand what you're saying..I always heard it as a key change albeit only for a couple of chords before sliding right back into the main key of the song. Now you're making me hear that part of the song in a completely different way:shrug:

I dunno ... Mother's Little Helper, Dandelion, The Last Time, Out of Time, Citadel ... and the IV maj 7 - I repetition in the coda of Time Waits for No One has a certain something that I like a lot.

"Heaven" from "Tattoo You" has cool chord changes.

Back Street Girl. Once it gets going, the changes are inevitable. But it took the Stones to get it going.

For me it's the chord change during the instrumental break in "Monkey Man". Nicky Hopkins' piano in that section is close to my favourite musical moment from anyone. It's absolutely glorious.

Waiting On A Friend & Let It Loose. That Exile track is particularly mesmerizing.

I'm not sure if there actually are Rolling Stones songs which would feature my favourite chord changes...

Every once in awhile a song comes along that literally defines a genre and those three define what rock and roll is to me.

I suppose the Stones trademark is the I-IV on the open G tuning. As far as interesting chord progressions, there really aren't many but then that isn't what they are about anyway. If rock'n'rollers start deviating too much from the blues idiom it isn't too rock'n'roll, is it? :) Let it loose, Brown Sugar and Soul Survivor, though, have a few twists and turns in them.

The already mentioned 'monkey man' - i love the key change in the instrumental section when it goes to G ....
But as for chord progressions and interesting chord changes when played on the guitar -
'Torn and frayed' is pretty cool. Simple chords but effectively arranged..
' loving cup' has an interesting key change/chords on the middle 8 part.

I also like the chord changes on 'almost hear you sigh ' especially the break section ( whatever you want to call it) before the guitar solo..

I'm sure i will think of more ...

'The Lantern', particularly that softer section towards the end with the (pardon my lack of musicology here) descending chords and moody brass. It's beautiful.

I always thought that Never Tear Us Apart by INXS was musically "modelled" After Heart Of Stone.
