Interesting. I assumed that all shows were complete. Can I ask if the incomplete shows are missing entire songs or simply missing the banter?
I understand that the VAT is removed from the 104.86 pounds price to get 87.38 pounds. I wondered how the $117.33 price (which 2 people here stated they paid at Amazon UK) is figured because you can't use US dollars since it is a pre-order. Can it be converted? I like the looks of the set. Much better to stay simple without lots of "extras" to up the price. Really look forward to hearing this. Nov. is going to be an exciting month for other reasons also.
The version of "Just Like A Woman" that directly proceeds it is, also. Amazing, especially the vocal coming out of the bridge. My go-to version, even though Bob is struggling with the guitar tuning a bit. Whether it remains definitive is still to be seen...
Sorry if this has been asked... Is this an official Bootleg release? I'll gobble this up and love it but I will be crushed if this means the Blood on Tracks rumored set will be delayed another year.
On some of the Nagra recorded shows, there are instances where the recorder ran out, or started late. "She Belings To Me" was especially susceptible to a late-starting recording, due to being first. Not totally surprised that they're not all complete. This is far, far more than I ever thought I'd get to hear!
Exactly. This is a completely new concept in music sales. Record executives have not exactly been known for quick thinking and innovation. Hopefully sales of this set will encourage them to properly package the previous copyright sets. The music exists and discs don't cost much to produce. Isis, Rolling Stone and the rest of the internet are basically free advertising. These sets should have a very similar profit margin to the 6cd BS sets.
For people who are fans of both Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd, November is going to be brutal. This is all glorious madness.

I haven't spent a TON of time with unreleased '66 material like some of you have, so are there any revelations in this track listing? (or is it too early to tell?) For instance, I see they've added a soundcheck to the Manchester show (disc 20), which many of us know as BS4/"Fake" Royal Albert. Probably not earth-shattering, but notable nonetheless.
Some quick impressions... From the review: "with the exception of...the overwhelming majority of tracks and performances are previously unreleased in any format - official or bootlegged..." Huh??? Don't know what they're smoking there, but the "overwhelming majority" have indeed been bootlegged substantially. Though even for owners of those sets, the previously uncirculated stuff will make this set more than worth delving into... The goal is to some degree a copyright protection effort of course, with a recognizable difference - the notoriety and quality of the '66 performances lends them a much higher degree of potential profitability than the earlier collections, thus justifying the additional effort to produce a commercial release. I fully expect this set to once and for all put the "historic" Manchester set in its proper place as just another concert from the tour - a mostly solid performance enlivened by some especially vitriolic interplay with the audience - but musically, one that was equaled or surpassed in quality by several others either in part or in whole (I'm especially looking at you - electric Liverpool - and you - acoustic Sheffield and acoustic RAH). I dearly hope this release features a more natural, less processed mix of Manchester than the original Bootleg Series release. Though I hesitate to go "there", one cannot help but remark upon on the vastly different approaches to archival releases by Dylan and his organization on the one hand, and a certain group from Liverpool and their organization on the other. Whereas one has now gone out of their way to service their most dedicated fans with as complete a representation of the artist's work from this period as is possible to produce, the other remains obsessed with maintaining a carefully burnished, polished "image", and won't even release a fair and accurate representation of their professionally recorded shows. And don't tell me there aren't plenty of other Beatles live performances - indeed, ones that exceed in recording quality many that are coming out on this set - that aren't worthy of a wider hearing, as there most definitely are...
You beat me to it! I'm sitting here working on the cut and paste, and just as I complete the chore, I refresh before posting and there it is. Thanks, Tom Shreck.
I would never-in any way-criticise-a project like this. They have the recordings-it s fairly cheap to produce-and of course there will be an audience. Even I might go for it even though I doubt it. Still one can wonder-is there really a reason to release everything just because you can. Had their made a similar project regarding the never ending tour I would not have hesitated though. Still asking myself-who on earth would listen through all these recordings. The question Why I don t even dare to ask. I love Dylan-own pretty much everything thats officially released and then some. But everything has a limit. Perhaps mine is this amount of cd:s covering one tour. I did not go for the 18 cd Cutting edge either. Not because of the price but more because of the idea of listening through every little thing that was recorded during that mercurial phrase in Dylans life. The 6 cd is great and fills more than enough holes for me,
Great work, Tom! I was just about to do this too, so in addition to creating a useful list, you saved me some effort!
Worth it for just "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," "Tell Me, Momma," and "Tell Me, Momma."
Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Mojo is reporting: This set has been mixed by engineer Chris Shaw who has previously worked with Dylan on “Love And Theft” and Modern Times. Dylan Live In 1966: Huge Box Set Due November 11 | MOJO » That gives me hope. Chris seems to do a fantastic job. L&T is the closest I think Dylan's gotten to that live NET sound in a studio.
Yes, thanks Tom, it's all beginning to make sense now. It's almost like a community round here sometimes, isn't it?
