    Me very like this album.

Generally not a Genesis fan per se, I also like Lamb......, not quite as much though.

Anyway, what would the next album be I should be checking out?
I dont even know how many there is to go, I am deliberately not looking too much into the discography.
Id be quitting well before the "Invisible Touch "and "Land of Confusion" era, just saying. Im really liking their proggy 70's stuff.

Selling England by the Pound or Duke would be great.

Wind and Wuthering and the live Seconds Out are the two with the same lineup.

This. Then work backwards or forwards depending on which one you like better.

Another option would be the live album Seconds Out. That's from the "Wuthering" tour but it's also got a lot of their earlier "hits".

  13. Was playing this a couple of days ago, strange that there are 4 songs from 'Trick' as opposed to just 'Afterglow' from 'Wuthering'. It's actually a fine little overview of the 'prog' incarnation of the group before they went over to the shorter, poppier stuff later on. I'd leave Duke till after And Then There Were Three. It will make it easier to see and hear how they changed as a group.

I recently got back into Genesis after decades-long hiatus. Starting with the first album and moving forward an album at a time has been an incredibly satisfying experience. I'm up to A Trick of the Tail now, as a matter of fact. I like it but something's definitely missing with Gabriel gone...but it'll be interesting to me to track the band's development to its pop phase. I'm probably going to stick with it through the self-titled 1983 album and then step off. I heard enough Invisible Touch in high school to last me a lifetime.

I'm not the greatest Genesis fan but love the two albums I have, Trick Of The Tail and Selling England By The Pound but I see Trick as a transition album between their progressive and more pop periods so recommending England might be too much in the progressive direction unless that's a genre of rock you prefer.

I never liked the band until Gabriel left and Collins took on the vocals. I have A Trick of the Tail also, as well as Wind and Wuthering.
I have tried to get into the next one after that, but apart from a couple of songs, i can't. A shame as i really love those two lps and i could do with another similar one.
    So i'd get W&W.

I don't think there's another album quite like "ATOTT", certainly not the - fantastic - PG stuff and definitely not the later trio material. To a certain extent "Wind & Wuthering" but the poppy side already creeps in. Never could stand "Your Own Special Way".

Here's an idea: Why don't you start collecting various pressings of "ATOTT" instead? There's quite some variety out there:righton::righton::righton:
