Black Sea is my favorite but I have to admit the extra tracks from that era were fairly bland. I'd take a 45rpm vinyl reissue on that one...so I can listen on my Sony entertainment center!

The 2001 remasters were generally considered pretty bad, I see that's the only representation of the original release included on this Blu-ray (the "corrected polarity" version may not be drastically different, but it does have swapped audio channels on some tracks besides the polarity change).

Also, dumb on me for not keeping up and knowing this release had a signed postcard premium. Now sold out. My other two signed postcards will now be very lonely.

I didn't notice that. I think it's really weird that the 2001 is on there AND the 2010 "corrected polarity" version. Most people will compare the two and think the ****ty 2001 sounds the way it does because of the polarity.

Yes, it's also the one we all know and love. It's kind of weird for an album cover to change on you after a few decades! Plus I like how all these XTC rereleases match up and look alike with the same packaging design.

Looks like they got more Yes copies in - I'm glad to see that one still selling, it's effin' fantastic!

Has anyone seen this for sale on Amazon?
Really surprised there's no listing for it.

I agree. I think that this album would benefit more from the 5.1 due to its denser arrangements.

Yeah, I have not seen this listed with importcds either. I would think that this would be available for preorder by now.

Why use Amazon when Burning Shed ships sooner and is the same price or cheaper?

Well with no listing on Amazon there's no way to know if Burning Shed is cheaper. And I have Amazon prime so I get it on release day, Burning Shed (who I have used before) use second class post which is very variable these days.

Not to mention "more profits go directly to the artists than with sales generated elsewhere." Burning Shed: Specialist online music label and shop »

That's good enough for me to not order anywhere else.

Dave Gregory has quite a fancy signature, doesn't he? I wish I could write like that - mine looks like a Doctor's scrawl!

I'll have to say (if it hasn't already) but the bluray should have been part of the new vinyl reissue. For the amount of money spent and the short time between releases, they really should have added it to the bundle...or at least give folks a hirez two channel download code.

Is there a "complete" tracklisting available? I could swear "Gangway Electric Guitar Is Coming Through" was pitched for Skylarking. Is it on this one?

I think the LP re-issues are in a different category entirely, for those who have some coin and like big, lavish boxes or prefer 2-channel analog, while the Surround Series' emphasis is on content at a very affordable price. We already knew that the Blu-ray version was coming at the time the vinyl box was announced, and it's just a repressing/repackaging of the 2010 issue anyway, which was going for extreme prices on the used market at the time. I made the decision to wait for the BR myself.
I don't think they could have come out with the BR any sooner due to when they found the tapes (and the time spent mixing/mastering/assembling/manufacturing) and I think the vinyl version was in the works before that - and it wouldn't really make sense to keep a bunch of product sitting around in a warehouse for months.
Ape also doesn't have the digital rights to the catalog, so they couldn't distribute a download if they wanted to.
