Ravi Shankar in London 2011, 91yrs young. He was amazing given his age, his playing sounded like that of a man half his age.

I saw one of those shows around that time, she was great, and in her 80s.....and the night I was there Eubie Blake came in an played a tune or too, he was in his 90s. Very memorable gig.

Wow! I always thought she was older than me. Still one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen live. More power to her!

I saw Darlene Love, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson last year (and Brian a couple of weeks ago too).

The first three definitely still have it - although Aretha has lost a little bit of power she is still amazing.

Paul and Brian you go to see to have a good time. They are definitely not what they once were - and that's OK.

Frankie Valli is - unquestionably - lip syncing there. He definitely does not still have it.

(How do I know? I synced three or four videos of that very song from the past few years. The tempo and lead vocal matches exactly. Impossible to do if you're singing live.)

Leonard Cohen about three years ago. What was he, 79 or 80? And it's in my top 3 concerts of all time.

100% agree - and I have tickets for his version of the Sun Ra Arkestra at Cafe Oto in November.

    The Maestro still going strong...

  19. Around 10 years ago I was in Boone, NC and saw Doc Watson play at an open air music gathering. There was a heavy rain towards the end of his set and most people ran for cover. I told my friend as a joke, he should play Going Down The Road Feeling Bad. Sure enough he closed his set with that very song!

    RIP

Paul McCartney 5 & 7 years ago. I didn’t bother seeing him about 2 years ago when he came to Ottawa. I’ve seen him twice, he’s off my Bucket List!

Yea, but he works out and stuff. Doesn't drink smoke or cuss enough to age either.

Late last century, I went to a Ravi Shankar concert. I believe he was in his late seventies.
