:kilroy: I'll probably be the only person in this thread who mentions this one, but "(Walking Through) The Sleepy City."
And the one on Metamorphosis is a thousand times better than the Mighty Avengers' version, which leaves out the bridge.

Long long while, bar none IMHO. Extremely emotionally charged song where you can hear the pain and hurt in Mick's voice.
Again, this is what I take from this song and it's beyond me as to why it wasn't included on Aftermath.
    Cheers;

Between the Buttons side 1. Perfection.

  6. Flight 505 from Aftermath. Nice little "Satisfaction" quote in the piano intro. Love Charlie's drum fills. I've wondered if they got flight number from Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me" where Chuck sings.
    "Two, three hours passin' by
    Altitude dropped to 505
    Fuel consumption way too fast
Let's get on home before we run out of gas"

That is a good one! I always forget about Metamorphosis, but there are a few great gems on there. I like "I'd Much Rather Be with the Boys" a lot too, credited to Keith and Andrew Loog Oldham. There is a girl group version of that (gender swapped to "I'd Much Rather Be with the Girls") by Donna Lynn on the One Kiss Can Lead to Another Rhino box set. Really catchy:

Most of their early b-sides are very underrated and I love flipsides.

Peaked at 26 in the States and 33 in the UK. So not even top 20 in the US or top 30 in UK. I love all the cold parallels.

Happy to see a couple of posts mention "All Sold Out" - maybe the band's best rocker through 1967!

the problem with this site is the ones you think are underappreciated are actually appreciated here. (-: top five mentioned so far (of course):

winter (had the goats head soup cassette as a teen and forced y friends to listen to this not stop)
    time waits for... (see above)
sway/dead flowers (pretty appreciated tho, I think im pushing it with these)
think im going mad (played this way more than the a side)
    out of time

I figured - seems like it'd be hard to call side one of the US "Buttons" underrated since it includes 2 of the band's most famous songs! :D

I'd throw "No Spare Parts" or "Plundered My Soul" in there. I'm so impressed they were able to pull together two real classics from the old tapes. "No Spare Parts" is everything I love about the Stones, and it sounds like the classic golden era stuff. "Plundered" is extra special too, plus it has the goofy Mick falsetto vocals in the background, again quintessential Stones.

Lots of lists, but a surprising lack of worship for the church of latter-day Keith.

Excellent track! Sleep Tonight and Slipping Away are both great, as well.
