i may be the only SH.tv member to recommend it but Shugo Tokumaru's latest is as inventive as usual.

Never heard of him, but that video is a riot of fun. :righton: The only question in my mind is whether I actually want to listen to that music or, as with Jack Conte, just see it.

Ooh this is good. LC voice is deeper and more ominous than ever, the minimal musical settings are perfect and every song tackles one of the big themes: religion, desire, life and death. Produced by his son Adam it is hauntingly hypnotic music for the troubled 21st century.

    Your own death... as 'ART'!

Pretty outrageous really, in a great way.

It would be helpful if, for the less known artists and bands, posters could provide a brief description of what the record they're recommending sounds like :)

    Celebrate Your Worth,
the latest by The Blind Shake has been in pretty steady rotation over here since it came out last week.

Strangely sci-fi, deranged, deconstructed garage rock. For fans of Man or Astroman, Six Finger Satellite, The Oblivians, The Hot Snakes, Rocket from the Crypt, et al. It's put out by Goner Records, which should tell you a lot.

There's a new Kula Shaker album out? Morbid curiosity engaged. Not that I have anything against them, rather liked them as far as second-rate Britpop bands went, but I can't possibly imagine a record 20 years on sounding good.

Im digging this album right now. Its fun, interesting and catchy. Does some nice synth work to the foreground.

I'm reserving my final vote. Keeping my fingers crossed we will get another NIN album from Trent. He has hinted at it recently, saying "The year isn't over yet."

Dreamless, by Crocodiles, is growing on me nicely. They've traded in the noise rock for synths and atmosphere. Check out "Telepathic Lover" :)

Thanks for the good words on this, I may need to give it a go. I actually picked a copy up in my local the other day, but when I read on the store's sticker that they traded in the guitars for synths I was a little unsure - that's what I liked most about their early albums. Glad to hear it's an experiment that worked out.
