She had hair like Jeannie Shipton back in 1965
She had legs that never ended
    I was halfway paralyzed.
She was tall and cool and pretty and she dressed as black as coal
If she asked me to I'd murder, I would gladly lose my soul.
Now I lie in bed and think of her
    Sometimes I even weep,
Then I dream of her behind the wall of sleep.
Well she held a bass guitar and she was playing in a band
And she stood just like Bill Wyman
Now I am her biggest fan.
Now I know I'm one of many who would like to be your friend
And I've got to find a way to to let you know I'm not like them.
Now I lie in bed and think of her
    Sometimes I even weep,
Then I dream of her behind the wall of sleep.
Got your number form a friend of mine who lives in your home town.
    Called you…
    ....Or the Bill Wyman Song

Yeah, Darryl Jones is a great bass player but he adds more funk, I think.

I love Darryl Jones, love him with Miles, and with Sting, but the phrase "And she stood just like Bill Wyman"just conjures a specific look. Bill is very happy.

It amazes me that he hasn't been with the band for 27 years now.

I think it's great that he was comfortable enough in his own skin to leave the band when he wanted to and enjoy his life outside the band .

    Happy Birthday Bill.

Happy Birthday Bill! One of the very greatest bass players in rock'n'roll, period.

Yes, he was the silent Stone, because he knew that, between Mick and Keith, he would never get a word in edgewise. He and Charlie just hung back, laughed and rolled their eyes. From what I've seen, heard and read, Bill the man is very intelligent, interesting and has a wide array of interests outside of music. Anyway, I've been a fan for soooo long. 80...wow! Take care, Bill.

I refuse to believe Bill Wyman is 80.

To me, he'll always be about 46. :D

    Happy Birthday, Bill.

Love Bill, one of rock's best bassists IMO. Darryl Jones can't touch him, and the band has been missing juicy, perfect bass lines since he left. He always struck me as the coolest Stone because he was so quiet and down to Earth.

And he always looked cool AF:
