One of my favorite newer groups too.....(though they've been around for awhile)

I'm going to see them next Friday in New York City.

Looking forward to the new album....I'll listen to the stream tonight. Their last one, Darker Circles, was great.

Nov 1 for me a The Echo. Should be an amazing show.

please let me know what merch they have for sale. I was hoping to score one of the Vinyl reissues of Pure Diamond Gold.

It's a great great record , shame it's too short

OK, I LIKE THIS BAND, but I'm starting to feel, after having bought the last 3 records, like I'm buying the same record over and over again. I still haven't heard one since Favourite Colours that I like nearly as much.

I'm listening to this right now, on the recommendation of a friend. I think it's good without being extraordinary, some powerful songs like "Another Tomorrow Again" but in any case I don't think it deserves the criticism it has gotten by some reviewers elsewhere on the Internet.

Saw The Sadies a few days ago in SD. They put on a great show and did a great nuggets medley encore with the singer from the opening band the Loons.

Picked up the new vinyl at the show. A very good album and a nice pressing.

sadies_poster.jpg Look what I got signed at the show......

I just had it framed too. so stoked and a great show. they seriously kick ass. My wife has a crush on Dallas though...

This poster is by a Swiss artist that did a bunch of Sadies and Mekons posters. I used to live in Zurich and my step dad still lives there. Bless his heart as he bought me some signed lithographs from the artist here to the states for me.

The band was super stoked to see it. It was a great moment.Travis said that it was the hardest face the artist ever had to paint.

A few years back, the Sadies were doing an insane cover of the Jimmy Martin song "Freeborn Man". I've seen them do the song twice three or four years ago, and I've been tracking down a decent audio version of it ever since. If someone can help me on this …

Not sure which is the current thread for the Sadies because they're all few years old.
Anyway, I'm seeing them tonight in the same venue I saw them play with John Doe last year -- and that was a fantastic show.

Also thinking about going to see them on the current tour.
The opening band, Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet, also intrigues.

i just saw this show on saturday …… i hadn't seen either of them live for a loooong time (they're both from toronto) ……. they were both AWESOME. travis and dallas do a LOT of great harmony singing, and their playing was just ferocious. they also ended w a fantastic cover of LOVE's 'a house is not a motel' …….

shadowy men were fantastic too (w dallas playing bass, as reid diamond is no longer with us) ……. it's always great to hear brian connelly play nice n LOUD ….

what a night for the electric guitars (for me) …… lol

what was interesting was that it was wall to wall packed, for shadowy men, but then it thinned a bit out for the sadies ….. which was good as it was pretty crazy in there ….. (they did play friday night as well tho …)

i totally recommend this show if you have a chance to see them. best $25 CAD i've spent on live music in a looooong time. you will get your money's worth and MORE! lol

    Bumpity bump bump.

I saw these guys years ago with Neko Case in Austin. They were really good, but for some reason they didn't quite reach me.
Listened to this album (Internal Sounds) last night for the first time in awhile and it sounded like the greatest frickin' record ever. It pushed all the buttons: some quality twang, some fuzz, truly fantastic singing, and great songs. I am hooked.
Which record(s) should I explore next?
