I really don't know a better way to describe this situation. My daughter has taken to the Neil Diamond song, "Sweet Caroline". Because she is 13 she is capable of listening to this song 47,000 time per day.
I find this song somewhat unique from a listeners point of view. Almost everyone I know who hears this song will voice the three beat trumpet sound after the chorus, "Sweet Caroline...Bah, Bah, Bah....You know the part I am talking about.
This got me to thinking. What draws so many to do this? Are there other songs where this almost universally happens like it does with this song?
I like her enjoyment of this song and I think her voicing the trumpet part is great because it makes her happy.

In Argentina, my home country, everybody does that in the shows.
I mean, a crowd of 60.000 people singing in unison the main guitar riff of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long".
Same thing happens with Every band that plays over there, it's crazy.

but don't take my word for it, just check this

It's a songwriter's trick to insert little hooks in every silence between two vocal lines, precisely so the listener can hum them.

Dana Carvey's impression of Casey Kasem singing "Helter Skelter" came to mind.

I've long wondered why audiences latched onto that "bah-bah-bah," along with the added "so good, so good, so good."
