AR-XB fitted with a Shure V15 type III.
Bought it in 1975 and still going strong.
Acquired several others over the years, Rotel, Toshiba, Sanyo, AKAI, they all sit collecting dust in my shed.

No, I was a broadcast engineer some time ago, hence my long association with them. Now I have moved on to other electronic engineering work.

    Highly modded JVC QL-Y55F.

As follows and what a difference!
Arm rewired with Cardas Clear bypassing all internal solder connection joints.
Original external tonearm cable removed and replaced with WBT Next Gen Gold over Copper RCA's.
    3 fuses HI-Fi Tuning Classic Gold .
    Headshell re-wired with Cardas Clear.
All capacitors replaced and upgraded to Nichicon (mostly to Fine Gold types).
Discreet bridge rectifier built with SF4007 diodes in the power supply.
Internal plinth dampened with Dynamat Extreme and foam filled (foam used in military tanks - 3 type blend of open and closed cells.
Dynamat applied to the platter underneath and parts of the underside mouldings.
All carried out by Chris Johnson who was the founder and owner of Sonic Frontiers and Anthem in Canada.

So folks, here is the latest list. I have corrected one typo that was found and we now have 77 brands listed!!! The double digit brands have also increased. The top 10 are shown below. The most popular do not surprise me, however, 77 brands just blows my mind and I know of at least one more brand that someone on the forum owns, but it has not been posted yet. The thread seems to have slowed down some, I will check back from time-to-time and update the list as needed.

Replaced my Project Debut 3 with a Thorens TD160 last year. Love it.

  9. Kenwood KD7010-a 'high end' direct drive t/t from the late 80's. Purchased 3 years ago. Wonderfully constructed and precise-sounding. The original arm tracks superbly. I put a Denon D110 MC cartridge on it and it sings. No other mods. Apparently highly sought-after by European audiophile types, especially in Germany.

Okay, OP, you started the survey, it's up to you to go through the threads and write down the brands, and number of people who own the various brands, and report those figures. Then you created a useful survey.
