I know there are a lot of fake Bee Gees CDs out there, I even bought a Living Eyes CD that turned out to be fake some time ago, but that...

Just seen on ebay for 5 BGP (british pounds), "BEE GEES - Collection 18 MP3 Album 1967-2001". I think it is not fair to link this fake item here, but I think I will share the ridiculous arwork. I hope the link to the pictures will work. Laughable!

I used to work with a group of Russian software engineers in 2000-2001, and they had similar entire MP3 collections of every artist you could mention on single CD's.
They maintained you could buy them legally in record shops in Moscow.

You probably can buy them legally in Moscow simply because there's no law against it (or certainly not one that's enforced).

I love that those CDs are so proud to advertise that they're 128kbps. :)

But do they really need to take pictures of their friends to fake the artwork?

The guy in the center looks like the perfect crossover between WHAM! George Michael and Faith George Michael.

If they are willing to pirate the audio, I would expect that their moral compass would allow them to pirate photos of the real band. Really, they are not hard to find.

I wouldn't be surprised if you put it in and it was full of non-Bee Gee albums.

"Hello store owner. Yes, I'm sorry to bother you but I'm unsatisfied with the audio quality of this MP3 CD I bought from you. Also, it only has 16 random Bee Gees songs on it, and not the 18 full albums advertised on the package. I would of course like a refund of my $2".

Well, the fake Robin's wig isn't any worse than the wig the actual Robin wore toward the end of his career.

Man, I had so many of those Russian MP3 collections. Never saw inner tray photos though: that's high class!

The fake band shots were probably done on purpose. Dima thinks it's funny.
