I read somewhere that when the next archive box set is released, it will include an alternate Time Fades Away album.

Thanks much for the consideration and I have heard it on a CD-R .

But....what I heard is definitely a distant sounding but just bearable AUD.

Sadly, I'm thinking that's probably what this is.

Which just makes me want that Deluxe Edition more ....:righton:

I'd love that too. Bet it's almost impossible for contractual reasons, though. Even a CD of the original album would be appreciated.

I hear ya. A complete Carnegie Hall set by The James Gang would be most welcome

If the December 1972 Madison Square Garden gig was recorded to multitrack, I'd take it:

The sound balance has more depth than just coming from a stereo feed...likely multitrack, me thinks.

And completely remix it, ESL got everything wrong that All the World's a Stage got right. ESL is the most dead-sounding live album I've ever heard.

Probably of limited interest and I'm not sure if it fits the criteria but ...
Fred Neil's "The Other Side of This Life" was half live and as much as I've searched (and it's been a lot) there is virtually no Fred Neil live stuff floating around out there.
I found one boot of dodgy quality and a Youtube clip of him playing with John Sebastian and some others but that's it. One live video clip and a crappy boot.

I would love the rest of the show that is the live half of this album.

Seriously, did you want Nick Davis to get his hands on that as well? :yikes:

I would love to have a decent sounding recording of REO Speedwagon's Live - You Get What You Play For. The CD version that is currently available has no bottom end and is missing two songs! Please, please, please release the fully restored album with a decent mix. I wouldn't complain if they threw in a couple of new songs from the same tour.

  18. Get the Japanese Import. It has Little Queenie and Gary's Guitar Solo and it sounds great. I too agree, I'd love for a complete show from that tour with no guitar overdubs, extra guitars and extra vocals. Release it as a deluxe edition with the original album and a complete show. It'd be really cool to hear the differences.

There were supposedly some live cuts planned on the Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush box set that was cancelled. I am not sure if they were from the same show as Live or not.

Back in 2006 I did a mastering project on an old cassette audience source of that show (along with the artwork above) for the JamesGangsters group on yahoo, these are the details.:

James Gang - Carnegie Hall, NYC 5/15/75

    Disc One - 46:37
    1. Funk #49
    2. Ashtonpark
    3. Stop
    4. You're Gonna Need Me
    5. Take A Look Around
    6. Tend My Garden
    7. White Man, Black Man
    8. Thanks
    9. Garden Gate
    10. Again

    Disc Two - 46:30
    1. The Ashes, The Rain, And I
    2. Walk Away
    3. Woman
    4. Lost Woman
    5. Johnny B. Goode
    6. The Bomber

    NOTE:
*There is a slight glitch in Ashes, which is on the tape itself.
**In comparison with the live album, this CD runs about 1-2% slower.

    MASTERING INFO:
    ---------------------------
Low gen audience cassette --> Tascam 302 (pitch at about 11 o'clock) -->
    Tascam DA20mkII (analog to digital @ 44.1kHz) --> EGOSYSWAVETERMINAL2496 -->
    Cooledit2k --> WAV

For a 1975 homemade source it's not too bad but it's definitely for collectors/diehards only.

  23. I don't think that'll ever happen unless Rhino offers them a fair amount of money and even then I doubt the members will budge.

  24. As I recall he's one of three credited bassist including John Gustafson

It would be really great to get these shows in another set like the studio albums.

True. In general, it is unlikely that labels make a sizable profit on archival product, so it is hard to imagine Rhino ever being able to offer lucrative advances to artists who assert they are entitled to additional revenues for reissues.
