What a career. What a life. When you think Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for Miss Congeniality and Kirk has never won one. The mind Boggles.
Congratulations on this milestone Mr. Douglas.

Has he at least won an honorary Oscar? Congratulations, Mr. Douglas!

Every five years or so, I say to myself, "hang on, Kirk is still alive isn't he?" and I do a Google check.
He's still there! One of my all-time favourite actors, the like of which just ain't around today.

Not to mention he suffered a major stroke over a decade ago, one of the true legends still with us.

They gave him an honorary award of some type to mark 50 years of being in the business. That was back in the mid-90s.

Shortly after his stroke too, if I am not mistaken. I remember being very moved by his speech.

I saw the two of them together on TV not long ago. Michael sure looks like Kirk nowadays.

Agree - Michael has morphed into Kirk.

Whenever someone says what a great star Michael is I tell them to check out his Dad - Kirk makes everyone else look like an amateur. Very underrated in my opinion in today's world. He did a special that was broadcast on TCM a year or so ago and it was amazing how mentally sharp and agile he was at the time (filmed when he was in his early 90s)

Kirk's public appearances have been reduced the last couple of years so hopefully he's still doing well and keeps on to 101 and beyond.

Wow. 100. I had no idea. Spartacus was my favourite epic movie to watch on TV as a kid. It was always a toss up between Ben Hur, Spartacus and El Cid.

Until I saw Trumbo, I didn't know he played a role in ending blacklisting. Kudos Mr. Douglas.

  25. He should have won the Oscar for best actor for Lust for Life, very early in his career.

Kirk is simply amazing. He will stay with us long after he is gone.
