Sounds interesting, I take it they have a Hawkwind-type sound as they also back Nik Turner? Or is their own work different sounding? I'll have to listen to some samples later.

Definitely different sounding though there are certainly heavy guitars in moments. I actually find Hedersleben to be more overtly psychedelic than anything Hawkwind has done since the '70s.

Sounds cool, a lot of my listening (and this year's top 10) has roots in those Krautrock pioneers, but more in the Can and Neu! camp.

My vinyl collection has doubled this year to nearly 300 including loads of new releases and it’s so hard to pick. I’m sure this will change over the coming years as I discover releases I didn’t even know about and Blackstar isn’t listed because I’ve never found myself in the right mood to listen to it, figured I’d save it for the anniversary with a large Whisky….

but here’s what got the most playtime for me…

    Radiohead - Moon Shaped Pool
    Parquet Courts - Human Performance
Villagers - Where Have You Been All My Life
Ryley Walker - Golden Sings That Have Been Sung
    Camp Cope - Camp Cope
    Hinds - Leave Me Alone
Frightened Rabbit - Painting Of A Panic Attack
    Black Mountain - IV
    Sneaks - Gymnastics
    FEWS - MEANS

If I have some time I may tally these so we can create our own best of 2016 for the forum. It would be tough since there's a lot of diversity here which I love. So far the publications are leaning to Beyonce's Lemonade. I don't have that one, but I see 4 or 5 people picked it for their top 10 here.

I hate getting old. I can feel my music tastes stiffening like the rest of my body.

Car Seat Headrest - Teens Of Denial ...probably the only "new" band I got into this year. I love this kid's obvious joy in creating rock and roll.
    Wilco - Schmilco
M Ward - More Rain ...his best ever I think
Guided By Voices - Please Be Honest ...won me over in spite of my doubts
Thee Oh Sees - A Weird Exists ...solid as usual, need to get the other one that just came out
Parquet Courts - Human Performance ...not their best but still good
    Hoops - Hoops EP
Martin Courtney - Many Moons ...came out late 2015 but it's my list, so there
(spot reserved for new Stones album pending hearing it... I liked the teased tracks)
(reissue spot) Taste - I'll Remember: A Box Of Taste ...also came out 2015 but I didn't know about it until a couple months ago

Would be really fascinated by that. Maybe a top 50 or top 100 ranked in order by most chosen?

The James Hunter Six's Hold On!

    The Olympians self titled debut

So I have started tallying up the occurrences of albums but this will take some time because of the wide range of names. I'll also jot down when I started tallying so if there are more top tens added I could know that they are new.

Decent year for the old Masters. Nothing in terms of newer artists, very weak there yet again. And the Grammys ugh.

Really got to get my ears wrapped around that one. I really liked what I heard. Love his production on the Laura Veirs records.
