I wish they would do some shows in the US next year. The announcement said "no more shows in Europe in 2007" so that may mean something.

I have said this on other forums. Just saw JLT in New Jersey. He Nailed it! And I have to mention that Craig Goldy was spot-on that night too. Did a lot of the classics from his era and Dio. some purple too. Just my opinion but I think Blackmore is making a mistake. The new guy is good, but If he got Joe, Doogie and Graham with maybe Bob Daisely, Carey, and a decent "power" drummer, and made a DVD of that, It would send him off on a real high note. Im a Blackmore fan for 35+years and this lineup, I have no interest. Blackmore's legacy deserves better. It is HIS Rainbow but the other bandmates really helped shape the different stages of Rainbow's sound. I know many will disagree with me but I always enjoyed listening to what the others guys brought to the table. And they brought a lot.

I had to settle for balcony seats for London. I logged just before general sale started and none of the front seats in the area (first 40 rows) or nearby stalls was available. I wonder where these seats disappear at the start of sale.....after checking on and off for next 3 hours, I finally got balcony (first row above Ritchie's shoulder).

It is hard to imagine that any booking agency can route a Rainbow tour through the U.S. and make the band enough money to justify the excursion. Rainbow was subjected to playing clubs during the late-1990's when it was last on U.S. soil. Touring can be an expensive enterprise, and with Rainbow likely having to play smaller venues, there would have to be some very creative routing, pricing, and venues considered.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think Blackmore isn't interested in doing a re-tread of past line-ups. He wants to do these songs on his own terms with musicians he feels comfortable playing with. Bringing back a bunch of the old guard, in some ways, isn't forward thinking for him and, besides, he doesn't have to pay those guys like he does some hired hands who do a serviceable job replicating the songs.

Yeah and that doesn't seem to fit with the current form of the tour - large festivals or arena in Europe. Maybe depending on the response to the UK shows, a promotor may be interested in signing the band up for short US tour....key word being short! I don't know what Ritchie's current standing with US fans, can he fill up Madison Square Garden for last Rainbow hurrah?

I was thinking more Radio City Music Hall than MSG, but I'd love to see it happen.

When's the last time Blackmore even came to the US? I don't imagine Blackmore's Night has much of a draw here (unless they were playing a big Renaissance Festival or something).

Hey, if he does a show in New York as Rainbow rather than the wandering minstrels, I'd go.

I'm pretty sure he lives on the island. Either way, he could play a show in NYC any time he wants. Not MSG or anything - maybe it is an ego thing why he would play in Europe.
