Still think the 12 inch vinyl mixes are the best sounding, even more than the SACD.

Does anyone have any insight regarding the production of the album A Secret Wish, when it reads "Stephen Lipson, under the supervision of Trevor Horn", especially when both have impressive album-production résumés?

Strange how over the years I heard and liked Propaganda and Claudia's work, but never really did not know who they were.

Now decades later I can indulge!

Claudia's work with Propaganda, Act and also her solo work and other collaborations has held up incredibly well, imho and I find myself going back to the albums and singles quite often. Been a fan since the beginning, thanks to seeing the "P-Machinery" promo video on USA's "Night Flight" weekend music show. :righton:

I highly recommend getting the "Combined" comp cd if you don't already have it - lots of great stuff on that cd :

I also recommend the live DVD 'This Happened' that covers her whole career.

I watched Miami Vice pretty religiously. There was an episode with Basketball legend Bill Russell where he played a judge who was getting in deep with shady characters and a scene where he drove a car to meet with someone who was going to demand he do some things in the courtroom that were crooked, there was this burbling syth playing, then as he got out of the car, a female voice starts: Another truth, another dream. It fit perfectly. Bought the cd the next week. (USA today used to list the songs used on the show)

Eye to eye… D:uel are Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag. Future details on D:uel’s plans will make you wonder.

But for now, here's an opportunity to purchase a strictly limited professional art-print autographed by Claudia and Susanne as shot by Andrew Catlin. An edition of 50 only.

Look for "Propaganda unreleased beast within" :)
If You look careful You might even find some Downloads or Youtube links.....

  20. I'd just moved down to London from Leeds at the beginning of 1986 to work for a publishing company in Covent Garden. A Secret Wish and The Associates' Sulk along with Cupid And Psyche by Scritti Politti were the three albums I most closely associate with my time there. It was often amusing to be surrounded by so many people desperate to be millionaires and ....getting nowhere near...
But yeah, the music was FABulous, dahling.

Any idea why it was never finished and released?

Great thread! Have been a big fan of Propaganda ever since I came across the 12" of Dr. Mabuse back in the 80's and bought it just because it was on ZTT. And of course I bought the lps of A Secret Wish and Wishful Thinking too, as soon as I found them in the record store. Also recently picked up copies of the 25th Anniversary A Secret Wish and the expanded Wishful Thing, as well as the Noise And Girls comp. Is there any compelling reason to acquire Outside World and/or The Best Of comps?

Yes! Outside World is made up of some of the twelve inch mixes from A Secret Wish and is essential. Noise less so, but still fun.
