Put on Led Zep 2 yesterday afternoon and right before Whole Lotta Love, I assume Plant says, "Hi There," right before he begins his opening riff. Is this well known? Has anyone else listened to a record you've been hearing for years, only to notice something you never heard before?

"Opening riff" who are we talking about, Page or Plant?

A voice goes "hi there," and right into the opening Page guitar riff.

That's Plant but he doesn't say anything. It's just a laugh.

My son said that too. But I beg to differ! I still heard "Hi There" :)

It's only Plant saying "Hi there" if his speaking voice sounded like scared Lou Costello.

Yeah, I replayed it, but I am not on my home system, just a comp.
It is there, clear to me. Headphones would seal the deal.

This is what it actually sounds like when someone says "Hi there" at the head of a song:

If you listen closely at the end of The Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever" you can hear "I BURIED PAUL" said.

I didn't realize until sometime in the early 90's or so when a music publication printed the last two words on 'Your Silent Face'- Piss off, completely missed it

Sounds like a "Ha*cough*" to me. Now did you bother to go listen to the end of Strawberry Fields Forever?

Nah, "Whole Lotta Love" came before Peter Gabriel's "Big Time".

While listening on headphones to a needle drop of the stereo version of A Quick One While He's Away from the Phases box set I heard for the first time an acoustic guitar coming from the right channel during the Ivor The Engine Driver portion of the song. I had never noticed it before.
