Diary of a Madman, which I think is the only Ozzy solo album that measures up to the first six Black Sabbaths.

Technical ecstasy and never say die, as much as I enjoy them, aren't even in the same league as diary /blizz!

Blizzard for me. It was my first Ozzy solo album.

Oh man Diary all the way. I love Blizzard but Diary will always hold a special place in my heart. The title track is pure brilliance.

    They're both so great, I can't choose. I think they're Ozzy's best solo albums.

Diary for me. Regularly played at least once or twice a week!
Randy was KILLER on that record!!

It's hard for me to answer this honestly. For the longest time in the 1980's the Randy Rhoads era was Blizzard Of Ozz and Tribute. Diary of a Madman was just the album where those two songs (Flying High Again and Believer) from Tribute were from. I wore out the vinyl of Tribute so I have no explanation as to why I never bought the second studio album. But I also wore out Blizzard Of Ozz so logic says that should be my pick; in my lifetime I've listened to it 10 to 1 over DOAM. But while side one of Diary is great, side two might be the best side of music in metal history. Those four songs are all perfection.

So short version? I gotta pick Blizzard, but I wanna pick Diary.

Ohh yea absolutely, all of the above. I first heard Blizzard cranked on a Clarion cassette player while parked outside the local pinball hangout...20 seconds into "I Don't Know" and I caught that intense rush of excitement you get when you hear music that immediately connects with you; that thrill of hearing something totally new that changes everything for you.

Blizzard had an immediate, intense groove and power that pummeled like nothing else in it's day when released, and coupled with hearing Randy for the first time it was a special album indeed...definitely upped the bar and helped usher in the golden age of hard rock/metal.

Diary, both for music and overall sound. My promo copy is probably the best-sounding metal album I own (beating a promo Back In Black and U.K. Vertigo Sabbath Vol. 4).

I could see these two records as a double lp.

DIARY and its not even close, Diary is a masterpiece while blizzard has so many songs I cant stand

I hate mr crowley - I dont understand the love for this song
I hate goodbye to romance - dont understand the love for this either

Diary is just so good - You cant kill rock and roll - HOLY **** BELIEVER - Little Dolls, SATO - nothing bad here

and the title cut is RR's finest moment

  19. Diary...not close.

Blizzard Of Ozz is the only album I've actually listened to of the two. So I chose Blizzard. But I will listen to Diary Of A Madman.

I voted for Blizzard, but jüst close. You can see the little gap also on the votes for both.

I guess for me the difference lies in that Blizzard has the bigger/epic songs...
