Every month I'd like to start a thread, just to see what Vinyl people are buying. New, used, online, in store - it's all good. Post pictures if you like.

Is there any reason you bought that particular album? (content/colour/rarity)

If it's not a 'mainstream' band - do they sound like any other band, and maybe others might be interested in hearing them?

Please save music quality and vinyl quality reviews of your purchases for other threads.

I will be only posting vinyl that I have actually received - as many more will be days, weeks or months before they arrive. Choice is yours but please don't post in one month that you bought vinyl, and then post in another month that you received the vinyl.

Hope to see you all in here.

Starting my vinyl collection with mostly familiar ground. These are albums that I either own Hi-Res or SACD versions of, with the exception is Chris Robinson who, with his brother’s solo material caught my attention by reading these forums. I chose to start my collection with mostly stuff I already own as this music is music I come back to year after year, and I can compare easily to other versions I have. And, I’ve only opened 2 so far this month..

Many more albums on the way!

    Iron Maiden:

    Number Of The Beast
    Piece Of Mind
    Powerslave
    Live After Death

    Pink Floyd:

    Dark Side Of The Moon
    Wish You Were Here
    The Final Cut

    Lynyrd Skynyrd:

    Pronounced

    The Black Crowes:

    3 Snakes And One Charm
    Warpaint Live
W/ Jimmy Page Live At The Greek

    Chris Robinson:

    Woodstock Sessions vol.3

Sure I'll bite - bought quite a few LP's this month (so far). I'll start with this one:

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009)

Had this on digital for years, found this pretty cheap at one of my local stores, used. Price was the main factor here, and the hope of improved sound (you wanted to avoid that discussion so won't comment on that).

I can't say that they really sound like anyone else, nothing comes to mind.

Bought new / but at a discount. This comes with the Mr. Noah EP as the 3rd LP. Again a situation where I had been enjoying this on digital so grabbed it on vinyl when I saw the price.

I had never heard of this 'super band'. I came across it in a thread on this forum about the Queens Of The Stone Age, who I really enjoy. Watched their live in Austin set on Youtube and ordered this right away...

Shopping in Ft. Lauderdale this week.

Just purchased a new 200-gram pressing of The Damned's Machine Gun Etiquette and the two Kinks 7-inch EPs released for the last Black Friday RSD from We Got the Beat Records.

Before that was Mose Allison's Hello There Universe, the Blasters Non Fiction and a promo copy of the Tubes Live (cleared for airplay) from Radio Active Records.
