It may get ever better in a few weeks with the new Overkill.

Just thought I'd mention that even Murder One has connected for me now. In fact I'm finding it's a favorite this week. That was originally the one track that was a hold out for me. Just a fantastic album all around. Amazing turnaround that started with St Anger, which was a **** album but at least they were trying to get back to being a heavy metal band. Then Death Magnetic was a huge step forward from there, with Hardwired being the culmination of their return to form.

James has been quoted recently as saying it was a mistake to wait eight years to put this album out, and they won't wait that long for the next one. Definitely sounds like a man/band that is re-energized. Bring it on!

The 2nd version of the HD version of this album (the less compressed master) is dynamite.

There ya go! I loved it pretty much right away. Man I find myself humming a lot of the riffs and then I need to play the album again! Still hasn't worn off, such a great release.

After listening to the album constantly since its release I put on the MFiT release of Death Magnetic and I think it is the better album. Still like Hardwired...To Self Destruct a lot I jut feel Death Magnetic flows better as an album. HTSD sounds like a collection of songs.

Anyone know if there is a version of Death Magnetic on vinyl that actually sounds good? They are selling in on vinyl on metallica.com, anyone know if that is the non-clipping version? I doubt it...

Not sure about the vinyl, but the new HD-FLAC version for sale on their site sounds better than the original releases. Not deal, but it sounds better.

This sounds really bad. Lars needs to train. He's badly off-time here throughout.

First time live. Cut them some slack. Should be happy they are playing new songs live.

    Should I?
Judging by that performance, I'm not so sure I should be.

Honestly, I don't care what they play if it doesn't sound good.

My take is that they're getting these new songs down so that they sound good for the US shows. That's my hope at least...

Some songs work in a live environment, others not so much....that's how it works for everyone.

Cool shot from Ross Halfin, Cliff's dad turned 92 a few days ago.
