It's like one of those storys you hear that a treasure lies in a house full of junk.
Estate sale, the lady running it knows my wife and says there are some albums.
My wife tells her "my husband buys records and will take a look at them".
I go out there, not knowing what to expect.
The deceased evidently was a full on hoarder, house has stuff in every room plied to the ceilings.
She shows me the record collection downstairs, typical collection of a hundred or so rock and pop albums in poor condition.
I'm thinking this is going to be a waste of time, and then she says he has a Rush collection that he never played!
Sure enough she breaks out a separate box and there they were, every vintage Rush album, every one... all sealed!!
We discussed what she wanted for them, I made her a good offer and went home with this.

The guy also had memorabilia everywhere.
Hundreds and hundreds of Star Wars pieces, posters, games, figurines, you name it.
    Transformers stuff everywhere.
Unopened boxes of collector memorabilia of everything you can think of was stacked up all over the place.
Lots of it looked like it dated back to the 70's!
He had cars stored in his garage.
She said he had a Dodge Viper, I was skeptical, she showed it to us!
    This was just insane....

Nice find (I think, I've never heard Rush), but I guess it's sad circumstances.

As they say, you can't take it with you.

Good call by the deceased not to play them, IMO

Cool find! I'm a huge Rush fan but not a vinyl collector---I have a question for those who are.
I noticed the collection stops with Show of Hands (their Mercury years). Did Mercury release a box set or big batch of Rush vinyl remasters at some point?

You nailed it on the head.
Started buying records as a kid in 1975.
I've seen hundreds and hundreds of peoples so called collections and most of the time they are not in good shape at all.

Are you going to keep them sealed till you are deceased? So the next guy could make on offer. :p
