In my many years of shopping on Amazon, I have never seen them put an item as "Currently Unavailable" unless its the end. They frequently put "temporarily out of stock" even though it could be months (its been like this for several months with Ram and Band on the Run). Hopefully this isnt a sign that production has stopped. I hope Im wrong (its the last one I needed!!!)

I should also note that the price for Help in mono had been on a steady rise for a while

I just checked Amazon and the Help! mono LP is listed as still having four available (more on the way).

It did that to me as well. However, once you actually click on it, it says unavailable

ohhhhhhhhhh shoot. I feel like an idiot. I didnt account for the fact that the amount of stock they may show could be specific to the amazon plant near me. sorry guys

I just got a refund on Help! (mono LP) from amazon.co.uk (not .com). They didn't want it returned. (Side 1 had more surface noise and crackle than I considered acceptable.) Anyway the Amazon price has now gone up dramatically, so I've reordered from a UK Amazon Marketplace seller (which I've previously found reliable).

By the way, was it my faulty copy, or is the sound quality on Side 1 a bit tosh anyway (quite apart from surface noise, etc.)?

Ive found that some of the mono albums need a good cleaning or they sound horrible.

I'm guilty of not even playing my entire Mono box set. I did dabble here and there with some titles, but I should give Help! a spin. Hopefully it's not defective.

Thats what happened to me with my mono copy of Sgt. Pepper. I had gotten really busy and just didnt get a chance to give it a spin until a few months after I bought it. Sounded horrible. My guess is that a deep cleaning will do the trick, but I was still ticked off

Im sure one of these years the major retailers will run out of the most recent remastered Beatles lps. But even then the secondary market isnt going to all the sudden sky rocket in prices and these become hard to find.

15-20 yrs from now? Sure, maybe so. And we will all be either dead or deaf and old. So who cares.

By then The Beatles will be hologramed into living rooms and you can have tea with John while Ringo sews you a peace sign in the shape of an octopus.
