George Harrison 2017 vinyl box discussion

I ordered mine through Barnes & Noble...it shipped two days ago and UPS tracking says it will be delivered Friday...

 

So which album and I forgetting?? What is the thick one on let very left??

Box on the far end must be the two 12" singles, no?

Hmm. I was guessing Live In Japan was the album in-between Brainwashed and that second box.

Whatever the case, it looks really nice. If your friend posts other photos, would love to see them.

Haha. Here is what I was talking about: 1958-62 (LP) . The box feels cheap and made of almost like a plastic material. Not to mention the material on the album itself is basically just Anthology 1.

 

Got a CC shipping notice. It's gonna be an Electronic Sounds weekend

 

Yeah, that's not an official release, so I'm not sure why you'd expect the production values of anything in this box to be near as shoddy.

 

The Japan set is indeed there - you can see the title on the spine.

Edit: just like my original with the title on the side AND the top.

 

Was just getting ready to say it looks like they mimicked the original.

If they did put the singles in the box, I wonder if there's also a slim booklet of some kind in there?

 

Let's just hope they kept em out of PVC sleeves!

Ive seen many a bootlegs in my days, none quite as cheap as this.

 

Got it, but what does that have to with an official box set? There's almost no chance of this being put together that poorly, and based on the photos made public so far, I'd bet it's the complete opposite of that.

 

Im going strictly off of pictures Ive seen tbh. On all of the boxes for ATMP that Ive ever seen, the corners are very rounded, however these look extremely sharp. Also, the box looks a heck of a lot wider/ thicker then the originals. But hey, I could be wrong

 

New = sharper
Old = duller, more rounded
Wider = better quality
Thinner = cheaper quality cardstock
