I'd say their best is Fire Of Unknown Origin, although the first 3 are great. I've yet to hear a good mastering of FOUO which is a cryin' shame.

I've liked every tune on it since I first heard it in 1976. Still do. I think for the ten year period between 1976 and 1986 I played it more often than any one single Lp. One album I don't skip through.

Different strokes.

 

My favorite song on Agents is "The Revenge of Vera Gemini." My opinion might be biased and nonobjective, but I think it's a great song.

Good top 10.
Heaven Forbid is a good album, but not in their top 10 in my opinion.

 

You've yet to hear a good master of Fire of unknown Origin........how about the original f'ing album?

It's become my fave over the years. Prior to that the 1st one was my go-to Cult album but now it's Heaven Forbid.

No I mean the LP.
Maybe you are too young, but the album sounds very good.
Martin Birch was the producer so the album sounded punchy and dynamic.( 1st pressing)
Have you check out the Columbia CD box set version?

 

"The Revenge of Vera Gemini" is really good. That has Patti Smith on backing vocals, right? I've always had a soft spot for "Debbie Denise", too. Agents is better than I gave it credit for. The Lanier tunes are pretty bad, though.

 

She shares Lead vox with Albert Bouchard.

True Confessions could have been replace with "Sally" and I think it would have been a stronger album.

 

Heaven Forbid seems to get a lot of positive comments on this forum. Maybe I need to check that one out.

 

Yeah, definitely give it a whirl. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
