Both are making waves in Australia, and both are due to release their debut albums later this year.

I actually find it funny that the Stones put out their most tired album to date (Blue And Lonesome is a major letdown after A Bigger Bang IMO) and people were eating it up because it's the Stones when you have younger bands who are so much more exciting and fresh being ignored for the crime of not having been around in 1971

The Marcus King Band's 2nd CD was produced by Warren Haynes and it was my favourite
disc of 2016. I saw them live finally just this week and I can assure you that this kid is the
    real deal.

I took my 14 year old daughter to see Panic at the Disco and St Motel opened up for them, we had never heard of them. We both really enjoy their music now. Their music is fantastic.

As mentioned earlier in this thread: Serpentwithfeet. A queer black artist from Brooklyn with an exceptional voice. Experimental R'n'B/Gospel music isn't what I listen to very often but his debut album 'Soil' is certainly worth a listen. (Try it, he's on bandcamp.) I'd cautiously describe his music as a mixture between Frank Ocean and Antony (Anohni) Hegarty.
Yesterday, we went to see the guy in a tiny club, and boy what a talent! I expect great things to come...

    2019 - Sasami Ashworth - Sasami

    Album Review: SASAMI - SASAMI

Sasami Ashworth’s debut album as SASAMI is a rare event. It’s a powerful and often brilliant statement of intent that establishes the project as a bold and challenging voice able to innovate and reimagine. At its heart, the self-titled release is a dedication to sound, transforming otherworldly effects, brash noise, and daring harmony into a welcoming, if challenging, set of songs.

What's exciting for one person is boring or unpleasant for another. For that reason I find posts in this thread consisting of a list of twenty acts, without clips or any description of the nature of the music, to be of limited use. the longer the list, the less likely I am to investigate any of the names on it. I'd much rather just ONE name, with a brief description (who are they kind of similar to?) and possibly a clip.

In the spirit of practising what I preach, my current "exciting artist" is Ned Collette, who I have mentioned a few times on the board but I mention him again because that seems to be what the thread is for. His music could possibly be described as a kind of folk-influenced pop, or maybe pop-influenced folk, but occasionally he throws in some very odd ideas. this one for example:
