Very interesting indeed. I would buy several copies of that in a heartbeat. Is the 2CD "At The Movies & More" manufactured as a real replicated silver pressed CD set or are they CD-Rs?

I'd be curious just to see the tracklist. A Google search didn't yield one that I could find, although Wikipedia seems to have a good list (songs in bold are non-album tracks/exclusive to the soundtrack):
    • 1979: Over the Edge "Surrender", "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace", "Hello There", "Downed"
    • 1980: Roadie "Everything Works if You Let It"
    • 1981: Heavy Metal "Reach Out", "I Must Be Dreamin'"
    • 1983: Spring Break "Spring Break"
    • 1984: Up the Creek "Up the Creek"
    • 1986: Top Gun "Mighty Wings"
    • 1988: Say Anything "You Want It"
    • 1988: Caddyshack 2 "Money (That's What I Want)"
    • 1990: Queens Logic "I Want You to Want Me"
    • 1992: Gladiator "I Will Survive"
    • 1992: Encino Man "Wild Thing"
    • 1997: Private Parts "I Want You to Want Me"
    • 1998: Small Soldiers "Surrender"
    • 1999: Detroit Rock City "Surrender"
    • 2001: Joe Dirt "If You Want My Love"
    • 2003: Daddy Day Care "Surrender"
    • 2004: Garfield: The Movie "Wild Thing"
    • 2009: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen "Transformers (The Fallen Remix)"
    • 2010: Grown Ups (film) "Just Got Back"
    • 2010: Super (2010 American film) "If You Want My Love"
There's two edits of Up the Creek out there. I think the non-acapella intro version is rarer. Anyway, point being, it's probably not too difficult to piece together what would be on such a release.

Well, that's just strange. I checked the edits, and can't find any reason why they removed that from the list. Seems legit to me. Wikipedia is weird.

  7. I guess we should include "Send Love Through" with Debbie Harry and Chris Stein

  11. My copy is CDR with artwork.
Don't know if this title was actually pressed onto silver CDs. Sure deserves it.

  12. I also have a fan-produced single CD-R titled (Almost) Found All The Parts that has a couple things not on the At The Movies & More set. Got the single disc thing from a guy who used to work at Sonic Temple record store in North York over 15 years ago. Listened to it recently. Glad to have it!

There's a 14-disc, fan-assembled collection "out there" called "B-Sides, Demos, Outtakes, Rarities" that has some interesting stuff, including (to my ears) the best-sounding version of the Albini In Color material that I've ever heard, and I've heard quite a few.

That must be pretty complete. As my project gets closer to completion, I may be sending some discography questions your way if you don't mind.

Sure. I'm no expert, but I'll do what I can. That collection isn't too hard to find, if you do some Googling.

  16. I was just wondering about this.
So original pressings of Lap have a different version of the song than the later pressings? I'll give these a listen tonight and check em out.
Thanks a lot for this info!

Makes me wonder though, why include the "Big New Mix" on the Archives if that's now the standard version. Would make more sense to include the original version if that's sort of rare now....

I think it's not the standard version now. I believe it's yet a third version...

  18. WHAT.
So what is the source for these three "Don't Be Cruel" versions out there?

It looks like the CD is being released by Real Gone Music which has released other previously digital only compilations on CD.

Where does it say that it is being released by Real Gone Music?

Is that a grey area company or legit?

  24. melstapler

    melstapler Reissue Activist

Definitely. Real Gone Music is the American company. Real Gone Jazz is the pd label.
