Very few choices in digital players?

    Too mainstream. ipods don't play Flac. And the Bose? A Bose what? An all-in-one system? That's dull. I'm talking about a digital player for a hypothetical analogue amp.

    I'm going to +1 the Raspberry Pi + DAC solution.

    Pick up a Pi 3 and a HifiBerry DAC+ (available on Amazon), plus a case (there are a bunch built for Pis with the HifiBerry DACs), load up piCorePlayer on the SD card, install LMS on the computer where you store your music, and you're up and running. Should be less than 30 minutes of work and well under $100.
