I saw that screw up myself (only saw La La Land instead of Moonlight, so I picked La La Land.)

"Bonnie and Clyde" were ambushed again at last night's Oscars. Dunaway and Beatty were movie gods to me in their prime. Don't want to hear any "0ld" talk from people too young to know. Rent the full movie.

Arthur Penn's masterpiece, maybe best film of the 60s.

I agree...that was worse but I suspect some will disagree. No excuse for that.

The word is that "PWC" stands for "Problems With Cards." :sigh:

So they didn't replace PWC this year with lowest bidder Joe-Bob's Discount Accounting, slogan "You Can Count On Us"?

60 so far?! Yes, she should definitely put all that viewing to good use and post some mini-reviews. Very cool.

I think Sharpies and Post-Its are a great idea. Two sets of anything would make me nervous. The real mystery is how this hasn't happened before. (Of course, in the pre-social media years, the person holding the cards was probably actually paying attention.)

The NYT mentions another possible problem:

Anyway, for a senior accountant, this should have been manageable. But tweeting during his important task at the show, that's inexcusable. Maybe he thought the hardest part was over (the whole voting procedure in the months before) and tweeting behind the scenes pictures with the stars was a sort of personal celebration for a job well done.

I guess we won't be seeing him at the Oscar's again. And may that be a lesson to everyone. Never forget the basics :)

I suppose it's anybody who insists that someone has to be "The Jerk" (but actually it is and will always be Steve Martin). :)

    Got that right.

The logical thing to do would have been to *turn that bloody envelope around and check the "title"* - but logical behaviour in Hollywood obviously isn't something they got a lot anymore nowadays it seems ....

Making "texting" part of your job can have devastating circumstances.

The category is even mentioned on the bottom of the card itself . At least it was for "Best Picture", but I suppose it's the same for the other categories.

Though maybe difficult to read for elderly people who need reading glasses but are too proud to wear them on stage.

If you are too vain to wear your glasses, you can't read that - may they should print it bigger AND on top ?

If the Academy was so desperate to award a "black movie" for "PC" reasons, why pick "Moonlight" if it's as terrible as you believe? Why not pick one of the 2 other "black movies" nominated?

Oh wait - I know: because "Moonlight" was a better movie! :shh:

Choosing movies based on race is...well...racist.
