GEORGE JONES/SMOKY MTN BOYS - New Cracker Barrel CD

Some folks were talking about this on the Bear Family thread, but in case there are fans who don't hang out over there, there's a recent CD release exclusive to Cracker Barrel of the tapes George Jones made in early 70's with Roy Acuff and the Smoky Mountain Boys, and it's wonderful.

I just picked this up today while having lunch with my dad at Cracker Barrel. It is indeed wonderful. For those who want a preview of it, there's a 7-track playlist up on YouTube:

 

is this stuff never before released or hard to get?

 

It's unreleased apparently. I've never seen it before.

I've ordered the LP version. Exciting!

It really is a great collection of unreleased songs. Too bad the vinyl is so expensive; it looks fantastic. I'll have to settle for the CD.

Finally got out to Cracker Barrel and picked this up after breakfast for $11.99. Sounds great, George and the boys are in fine form
