Here is my little (mostly) headphone setup in the corner of my living room: The Marantz has a couple speakers hooked to it, but I mainly use my main system when I want to listen to music in the space. The cool thing is that when I want to listen to background music or radio shows, I can turn on the Marantz with the Echo Dot and then tell the Dot to pair with the Yamaha WXC-50 and send it audio without ever leaving the couch (or whatever I am doing at the time).
Thanks! Yeah I just serviced it a bit myself with some deoxit and it's sounding great. Was surprised at how much better it sounds than my other Rotel deck, actually. I mean I know Naks are great but it was a huge difference.
I'm currently using the amp that was designed with the speakers I have, the Joey Roth Ceramic Speakers + Subwoofer. It's the two aluminum pieces between the left speaker and my turntable. And the cylindrical subwoofer stand underneath the turntable doubles as an amp / crossover for the sub. I have a big B&K ST-2140 amp as well that I used to use with a pair of Vienna Acoustic Bachs... a totally different system and listening experience, but it doesn't setup right in my new apartment. I don't have enough space to properly space the Vienna Acoustics and so the sound was just too muddy. Looking forward to setting them back up in the future when I have the proper space though.
I would just sit there with nothing else lit (if you could) but the Marantz, you'll think it was 1972 all over again!
Nice! I'm getting ready to take a hit, spin Morrison Hotel and sink into the couch lol. Damn I need a lava lamp in here...
Grandmother gave me that lamp, it's been in her house as long as all the grandkids remember (that's me). Told her I wanted it. Now it's priceless, and I assume an original since we are all in our fo dees
I see you're listening to Dish Network - if you like jazz music I recommend the Dish CD channel called "Jazz Traditions". It's astonishingly great. I recently downgraded to one of the a la carte packages from Dish to save money and lost all the music stations. That's the one channel I miss.
Sharing a pic of my new Reference 3A MM de Capo BE in the new gloss piano black finish. It was previously available only in Nextel gray finish. Can't wait to move into a bigger space so I can fully hear the full potential of these wonderful speakers.
