I happen to be a jazz maven. I'm a composer, saxophonist, record producer, with extensive background in the entire history of the music. Drop me a line and I'll email my CV

Steve's requested reminded me of this dialog from "That Thing You Do!":

Guy : Hey, Lamarr, is there any place around here with really good jazz?
Lamarr : Oh you want Good Jazz? GOOD JAZZ?
Let me ask you a question? Who played coronet for Jacques St. Claire on Vital Stats?
    Guy : Scotty McDonald.
Lamarr : Get in the cab. Get in the cab!

I don't feel qualified for the job but I'm psyched to hear you're working on some new jazz titles. I love the DCC titles you did. I have them all. Can't wait to hear more about this new project.

He asked for a PM. He likely won't respond to you if you don't PM him first.

  8. My best friend came to Tokyo and asked me 'Are there any lively bars in this city?' with a straight face.

There's a bunch of them over at Organissimo, they eat 'jazz maven' for breakfast. But handle with care...

Reading about Mr. Farber (and having heard him play as well), sure looks like he could be Steve's guy - serious bona fides.

Yes, he certainly is the real deal.

I hope we'll be getting some new Jazz titles mastered by Steve soon.

Failing to realize that might disqualify an individual as a candidate for jazz maven :agree:

I'm SERIOUS! I've gotta check that out. LOVE the old stuff
but really want to hear what's going down now. Even if
"Vital Stats" is over 30yrs young, I don't care, I'm in!
