And though the pages of this thread are rather small, you have to count them all.

Such a rarity. Shame they never brought these 22 seconds out as a single back then.

The contribution of Aerosmith is great though. Glad I know their 'Come Together' cover through their Greatest Hits album already.^^

Gene Kelly would do a bit in Xanadu. The relatively younger Frankie Avalon in Grease. There's probably other retrofantastic cameos in other contemporary films.

I think it was a harkening back homage type thing to, obviously, yesteryear. Nostalgia for a lost sense of nostalgia.

I still haven't seen any scenes from it at all. I want to preserve my nearly blank concept of how bad the film actually is. No sense in opening that hangar door.

On a totally serious note, I've always wondered:
If Ringo was Billy Shears, what were the other three's Sgt. Pepper names?
    Nobody seems to know.

Out of five stars, what would you give the Sgt. Pepper movie?

How about these (I've seen these):

    Magical Mystery Tour?

    How I Won The War?

Seriously, I'm more interested in this movie than the BeeGees' one.

    Sgt. Pepper movie: 0 stars
MMT: 3 stars for a combination of it's overall wierdness, the great song "video" sequences and, unavoidable, the "charisma" factor The Beatles' presence brings to it.
How I Won The War: 2 and 1/2...solely on its' merits as a movie.

...and, where would "The Magic Christian" go?
    Between "How.." & "MMT", maybe?

You seem a man of sense, and as honest as i can ever be as a Catholic Irish man please do not expose yourself to such an atrocity of a film. Although, i admit some covers were actually good, watching it on film was not.

Oh, that's a whole other horse. I think Magic Christian is better than all of them. Well acted movie, great message. As i said, MMT gets the 3 out of four stars based largely on the musical sequences plus the fact that The Beatles are a part of it. I'd give MC the same 3 stars but just based on it's strength and uniqueness as a movie (so strictly as a "movie", it actually rates better than MMT).

AND, I might add, a little 'prophetic', with the ending, and what people will do in order to grab some cash!
