Playing with MM phono input capacitance, I would like to buy some capacitors in the 100-300 pF range. I know I have to look for polyethylene or polystyrene insulated ones, but I would like to have advice by the knowledgeable people here about specific brand/types and where to buy them on the net. Being in Italy, I strongly favour a European seller. Thank you.

Any cap will do for this audio enhancing.
Ceramic too, properties only important for HF, not for the audio band.
See for formula's this web, www.john-oates.jouwweb.nl for frequencies and if necessary adjusting the quality factor of the enhancement.
Best is to compare pink noise from a test CD with the pink noise from a test record, must be sounding equal.

    I
I buy 120pf capacitors regularly for. Phono adjusting box i manufacture.
    The guy is in Poland.
I will check out his details and put them on this thread
the box i build can. Add up to 960pf
Of capitance . About twice what is required.
Pink noise from test record is beneficial
    To determine correct setting!
    The guy advertised on EBAY!

Why not a trimmer - a pair will cost you about $15 US, and you'd be able to match a pair with a multimeter closer than the tolerance of fixed components. A little "capacitance box" with RCAs and the adjusters exposed would allow one to dial in an optimal setting with a test tone record.

Here's a 12 ~ 180pf, in the range of phono corrections that might be required, although larger and smaller values are available. American made.

This would have to be in combination with shorter/lower capacitance RCA cabling that stock.

I use silver mica ones in my phono pre. Farnell sells them.

These. Precision, CDE makes a quality unit as well. I'm sure there are others.
