Loved the book. The film was a bit of disappoint me to me.

Probably see it just out of curiousity.

Man, I never realized how un-nerving the sound of a slide-projector changing slides could be before...

I've come to find out that the light-changing "look how fast it's moving" sequence like at the end of the trailer there is only cool when it's Batman :p

Unlike the upcoming Dark Tower, this is a pretty basic story that should be hard to ruin. You have to be curious how they're going to handle the endings- both the, shall we say, group affection of the kid's story and the physical appearance of It.

I'm afraid that, without the present story framing the past, it may just come off as a generic horror movie. The early scenes in the book, where the adults are introduced as they are made aware of what's going on in Derry, contain some of King's best writing. As already mentioned, though, impossible to fit the whole thing in one movie, so what else were they going to do?

You are aware that this will be made into 2 movies? Parts 1 & 2.

That's pretty evident if you read what I wrote. They're unlikely to use King's framing structure and I think it will lose some of what made the book work so well.

I know what you mean. The Halloween remake was released in August 2007.

I remember that too. Rob's newest movie, "31", came out last summer too if I remember correctly.

I'm sort off dreading this movie series. I really hope I'm wrong. The book was so terrifying. I just want a scary clown movie without a side of cheese.

Wonder if Stephen King will be involved in this.

  16. For the most part, the more Stephen King stays out of motion picture making, the better. (This is coming from great admirer of King.)

From what the reports say and from the trailer I think the whole film will be much more sinister like the book rather than Tim Curry & Co

What? you weren't a Maximum Overdrive fan?:p (good soundtrack, though)
Tim Curry was perfect as Pennywise IMO. Talented guy- it's kind of funny that he'll probably be remembered most for Frank N Furter and Pennywise out of all his roles...

I actually agree about Tim Curry. I was just responding to someone that hoped that Pennywise would be more straight laced which I believe he will be

The trailer looks good it looks much scarier than the TV miniseries which seemed cheesy to me, except for Tim Curry who was very good. I also loved the book and hope that this film version can capture some of the scary / creepy elements of the book that the TV series seemed to miss the mark on.

Hmmm....hmmm....this looks alright, but the original with Tim Curry is going to be a tough act to follow.
