    Don't know about the mastering.
If the tracklisting is strictly chronological, I'm guessing there's a number of re-records with Kelly Hanson.
I like Kelly just fine and think he's the perfect fit for the band right now. Can't Slow Down is terrific, but a couple of new recordings don't justify releasing the 98th(slight exaggeration) hits collection for Foreigner.
I would love to see a new album, but I don't think it's going to happen.
This site Foreigner Releasing Two New Songs as Part of New '40' Hits Collection says there will be a double vinyl version containing 23 songs released on June 2.
Maybe they should call the vinyl version "23"!

I saw them on their last tour and Kelly is a great frontman. Really enjoyed their show. Classy music!

I don't see any need to re-record the classics though. Why?

I would like a remastered version of Foreigner Records (the duke box album) because I grew up with that slab of vinyl! :)

They probably re-record the classics for publishing reasons. Hoping to sell them for commercials or movies.
I've played the Foreigner Records Hits album a few times myself.
One of my first Foreigner albums.

Wyn Davis remastered it. They used him on the last couple of albums.

The mastering on Can't Slow Down is pretty bad, IMO.

i think there are only 3 studio re-recordings "say you will", "i don't want to live without you" and "fool for you anyway"

Here we go again, on May 26th 2017, we will be getting another Foreigner compilation called Foreigner 40 (has 40 tracks of course), pretty much the same ol same ol, I'm passing on this one.
This is like the third official 2 Disc set from the band, first being jukebox Heroes, and No end in Sight, now this one, I love me some Foreigner, but this is ridiculous.

May is going to be expensive enough with the Sgt. Pepper 50th release!

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

Sometimes when an artist has a legal dispute with the owner of the hit material, the artist will re-record them so they can market the music themselves. It's buyer beware if the music isn't on the original label. That is not the case here. The issuing label is Rhino, which a reissue arm or Warner Music, which Atlantic is part of.

I am not in the market for a new Foreigner comp because I already have three of them in addition to the proper Atlantic albums from 1977-1988. What's important to me is getting the single versions, and I have several of those on the "Complete Greatest Hits" CD. This CD uses all album versions, which I already have.

Haha..yeah love the band but it's pretty hard to get any joy out of the seemingly endless array of live albums and compilations they've put out over the past few years.

A new album? That's when I'll be excited!!

Starrider, again! It can't just be me that hates that song?

The Flame Still Burns is still better sung by Jimmy Nail on the Still Crazy soundtrack too...I never thought I'd say a song sung by Kelly Hansen sounded better when it was sung by Jimmy Nail! :)

This release has a bunch of radio edits but I think I have them all on other releases. If the mastering is good I will buy this release but I have my doubts. Chances of the songs being too compressed and loud is probably pretty high.

Man, what about a NEW RECORD of ORIGINAL TUNES!
How many comps do you have to release?
    It's beyond overkill now.
    I'll pass.

Yes the version on the Still Crazy soundtrack is better. I think the only recorded version of that song with Kelly Hansen is on that acoustic CD so this new version for the new comp will probably be different and not an all acoustic version.

    Btw I love 'Starrider.

From the listing on Amazon UK it lists a bunch of radio edits. Maybe it's wrong.
