    That could be a very long list; I'm not that motivated. This would be #1 only for having "Radar Love" and Twilight Zone" in the same place.

    ....just like ONLY listening to the radio, with greatest hits comps you miss out on some truly great songs. Even if you're only mildly into a band, it's so easy to check out a whole album these days. Heck, if you're inclined to do so you could D/L every album and make a better comp than what is offered via retail.

    In other words....I don't dig'em. My opinion of course.

    Can't say as I'm a fan either, but I will pick one up cheap if I have nothing by that artist. ABBA and The Carpenters come to mind.

    I have 'The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society' the CD has the songs in Stereo and Mono. But you'll probably know that being a fan. The album is OK. Maybe i've not listened to it it enough. Might dig out later. I've lost count of the number of albums I've brought out of storage to listen to again after they've been mentioned on this forum. I know that particular Kinks album wasn't mentioned by anyone on this thread (apart from me) but I'm going to play the album later.

    I guess I just don't really think like that, or operate like that in my collecting of music. The only bands that I would "only be interested in buying their greatest hits albums" would be if I found them at a yard sale for a dollar. I have quite a few like that. But going out and paying full price for somebody's Greatest Hits, and saying "oh, that's plenty, looks like I'm done now"? I'm not sure I can honestly name a single example from memory where I did that. Unless you count something like Switched On Bach as Bach, or a "Complete Singles A's and B's" type compilation with the B-sides attached. I think I bought a Michael Murphey compilation one time, just because I was jonesing to remember the verses to"Geronimo's Cadillac," and it was driving me crazy, but that was back in the days of the early '90s when nothing of his old stuff was on CD. (I knew the chorus by heart but I could not for the life of me remember how the verse went, or if it had a middle eight.)

    Japan and Joy Division. Bought their greatest hits because I couldn't be bothered listening to their studio albums. Not many Hits on the Joy Division complication, but to be fair they didn't haven't many hits ... Did they?

    Most of the secondary British Invasion bands - The Dave Clark Five, The Animals, The Hollies, The Yardbirds, The Searchers, Herman's Hermits, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Peter and Gordon.

    But for those posters who have said The Kinks, that's just crazy!

    By no means intentional although after approximately 30 years or more I still haven’t expanded upon these three cds;

    The Police – Every Breath You Take – The Singles (EVECD 1)
    The Best of Mountain (BGO CD33)
    The Best of The Doors 2 x CD (Electra 960 345-2)
