+1 on Shadows and Light, it made me much more interested in the post-Court & Spark material.

I'd say all the early EC albums through Imperial Bedroom with the exception of Almost Blue, which irritates me for some reason.

From various threads I've seen posted here, the most successful ones seem to stipulate precisely the OP's intentions in the very first post.

Also, the Thread Title should successfully encapsulate the subject, too.

Otherwise, I've seen threads, and created ones myself, that can easily "go astray".

    How so?
Readers will skim the Thread Title and instantaneously want to post their reply.
Or, if they quickly read the first post by the OP, they may just "jump" to the end.

They may not read the OP's thread tweakings (admonishments) on page 3 or 4.
Well, you did ask for "Favorites"... Some of us really do enjoy whole discographies!

But, there's not really too many of those listed here; so I wouldn't be bothered by those.

    Your thread is interesting, thanks!

I also would go several steps further for MacManus:

    This Years Model
    Armed Formes

RUSH: I would hone in on these four. I don't dislike the albums before or after but this is the meat of their discography.

I never cared that much for My Aim Is True except a couple of songs.
    Trust is good.

..I dunno, these are the three I chose.
    I like em.

    Your list is solid.

For me My Aim is True is an all timer:

    Miracle Man
    No Dancing
    Watching the Detectives
    Welcome to the Working Week
    Alison
Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes

    all classics

I would go up to Trust, skip Almost Blue then push on until I get to Spike or even the much maligned Mighty Like a Rose which are widescreen awesome.

Talk Talk doesn't have one bad album in my opinion. I used to be a bit apprehensive on the first one but it's still damn good compared to their contemporaries at the time.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    My list though -

    A Trick of The Tail
    Wind and Wuthering
    And Then There Were Three

Genesis's romantic trilogy. They were never better during this period I'd argue. I think I just really love Tony Banks probably.

I used to believe this couldn't possibly be true, now I'm close to being convinced, the three problem albums for me and perhaps some others are the ones that just seemed to slip by me for some reason. 'Henry the Human Fly' I now completely buy into, Sunnyvista: I'm getting there, 'Electric': I've managed to almost completely ignore for some reason
