That first video reminds me of Ricky Skaggs. Impressive!

That's why I love this forum; at the moment it's all about this 50-year old album getting a festive re-release, but getting to know (for me) unknown bands and players makes it a far richer and more rewarding experience.
Great sounds and a fantastic guitar player, thanks for sharing! :)

And; quite a rarity in these Youtube-days; a great recording too!

Those videos are awesome and I'll have to reread that issue of Acoustic Guitar. I've been concentrating on Peter Rowan's arrangement of Walls of Time.

When you play this, click on "Full Screen" and dig that beautiful guitar. Probably around $20,000.00.

I own a bare bones model Martin D-1 which I think sounds pretty good for being a basic guitar. However, when you compare it to some of those higher end Martins, there is just no comparison. Some of those just sound magic!

Bryan Sutton is a great player as well.

what is so impressive is her tone and her ability to make every note clear with that speed.
Being a banjo player, I have played with lots of puckers that are fast as lightning but there is lot of notes
    that are just lost.
If you can't play it slowly, correctly, you can't play it fast correctly.

I took a group bluegrass banjo class from her dad Jack , here in the San Francisco Bay area quite a few years ago.

George is my absolute favorite guitarist of all time!

I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him play on quite a few occasions throughout the 70's and 80's.

Not only was he a superb musician, he was also a very kind gentleman.

People dont realize just how difficult it is to do what she is doing. This type of playing comes from a way of life. Excellent stuff. And, boy, dont she look like Iris in that second pic.

Outstanding track, amazing talent, count me in on the 2nd June for the EP
Hope the young lady does well and tours the whole UK soon, the Shetland Islands Festival April 27th to 30th is a bit too far for me.

Parts of this video seem sped up they're that good !
The dedication to devote your life to mastering an instrument ..... it takes a certain breed of person.
I wonder if these players ever get wrist problems ....... seriously !

When she uses a pick notice she rests her palm on the bridge to steady it. That will probably save her hand in the future.
