    Harvest.
    Tonight's the Night.
    On the Beach.
    After the Gold Rush.

These are all equal imo. Everybody Knows and his debut just behind them.

Harvest started me off with Neil so i'd call that my fav if i had to.

    Agree with After The Goldrush.
Always wondered why it's sounds cruddy compared with his first two&Harvest.

    Hmmm. Well,

Live at the Fillmore Archives release with Crazy Horse is pretty killer. But so are:

    Rust Never Sleeps
    After the Gold Rush
    Tonight's the Night
    Freedom
    Silver and Gold
    On the Beach

Yeah, Young's debut album is evocative of the time earn, and Brautigan's slice of Americana pie.

Great cover. Everybody has a different interpretation of what it means.

You could pick any record between the self titled and RNS, plus Ragged Glory.

He had a second blast of greatness--following his first decade or so--from '89's Freedom through '94's Sleeps with Angels.

Very true. SWA is a killer record, and greatly underrated.

My weird explanation---the headline of the newspaper under the table is the main clue--is that that's not Neil Young standing with his back toward us facing the sea. It's Richard Nixon, his hair grown out. The ( '59 ?) Cadillac tail fin sticking out of the sand symbolizes the end of the 1950's era just like the Statue of Liberty in the sand at the end of Planet of the Apes symbolizes a nuclear holocaust.....

    Best selling album Harvest.

It was a spectacular LP. Kept it simple and well executed from cover to songs.

Tonight's the Night - raw, real, gritty, with a touch of sentimental melodicism. Everything you could ask for in a Young record. Now to get an 'Archive' version so we can enjoy the original intent.
